NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BAR EXECUTIVES
COMMUNICATIONS SECTION

Each year, the NABE Luminary Awards program recognizes excellence in bar association communications and marketing by honoring the outstanding communications projects of the past year. All NABE Communications Section members are invited (and encouraged) to submit their best work for consideration and recognition. Submission period is generally April through June.

Award Categories

Excellence in Regular Publications
A regular publication effort that exemplifies excellence in writing, editing and design in meeting the needs of the publication’s targeted audience. Submission is the flagship publication of the association. Print and electronic publications are considered for this award. Examples of regular publications include monthly journals and weekly newsletters, in print and electronic formats.

Excellence in Special Projects
A special project exemplifying excellence in reaching the targeted audience by the use of multiple channels. Examples of special projects include one-off projects, public relations campaigns, directories and annual reports.

Excellence in Electronic Media
Electronically distributed publication that is not the association’s flagship publication and exemplifies excellence in its content, design, and usefulness. Examples of Electronic Media include blogs, enewsletters, social media campaigns, weekly podcasts or videos.

Excellence in Websites
A web site effort that exemplifies excellence in usefulness, ease of use, content, and design in meeting the needs of the web site’s targeted audience.

Excellence in Marketing
A marketing campaign exemplifies excellence in promoting a bar association program or event designed to produce revenue. Examples include (but are not limited to) a marketing campaign to promote an Annual Meeting, a continuing legal education program, or special revenue-producing events. Examples include campaigns to promote an event, membership, or product. Submissions may include video, social media, print collateral, ads, etc.
