The Workshop room rate is $164.00/night plus tax under the NABE housing block. Please note that that rooms on Tuesday night under the block rate are currently sold out, however, rooms outside the room block for Tuesday night may still available and will need to be reserved separately. Rooms for Wed., Thurs. and Fri. nights are still available at the room block rate. As an alternative for those looking to secure lodging for Tuesday night, hotels nearby/within walking distance the Hilton Omaha include the Omaha Marriott and the Hilton Garden Inn.

The deadline to secure rooms under the NABE housing block and received the block rate is Tuesday, September 11, 2018. To make reservations, call or go online:

Registration Policies

NABE Membership: Membership in NABE is not required to attend the Workshop but encouraged. To join, click here.

Registration: Registrations received after September 14 will be accepted to the degree additional registrants can be accommodated. Names of late registrants may not be included on the list of attendees available to registrants before the meeting.

Cancellations: All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to Rebecca Green-Jablonsky at rebecca.green@americanbar.org. A full refund will be applied to cancellations received on or before September 14. A $25 service fee will apply to cancellations received September 15 through September 19. Refunds of 50 percent will be applied to cancellations received September 20 through September 25. Refunds for cancellations received after September 25 cannot be granted.

Scholarships

The NABE Communications Section Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to deserving section members wishing to attend the annual workshop but whose bar associations have limited financial resources. The full scholarship is reimbursement of up to $500 in expenses and waiver of registration fees.  For the 2018 workshop, up to three scholarships may be awarded.

The scholarship program’s guidelines require applicants be members in good standing and satisfy some, if not all, of the following criteria:

  • have not previously received scholarship assistance from the committee;
  • have not attended a section workshop in the past five years;
  • are not able to attend without financial assistance;
  • are new to bar association work;
  • would increase racial/ethnic diversity of the section;
  • would be likely to remain active in the section
