NCBP Invites Members to Apply for a Diversity Scholarship
The goal of the National Conference of Bar Presidents (NCBP) Diversity & Inclusion Committee is to strengthen the alliance between associations of all kinds to the benefit of the organized bar, the profession, and society as a whole. In order to reach out to a broader range of bar leaders, NCBP has established the Diversity Scholarship program. Scholarship winners receive free meeting registration, a travel stipend to in-person meetings, appointments to one or more NCBP committees, and free membership for one year. Applications are now being accepted for up to ten 2020-2021 scholarships, and NCBP is asking bar staff to forward this information to any bar leader of a diverse bar, a small bar, or to a bar leader of color. Council Nominations for NCBP are Now Being Accepted
Calling all bar leaders who want to continue to give back to the bar community! Nominations are now open for the 2020 NCBP Council. Nominations are open for five at-large seats on the NCBP Executive Council for three-year terms beginning August 2020 and ending August 2023. Seats are open to current and past elected officers from general purpose and special focus bar associations at the state, local (any size), and national level. Officers of Canadian bars are also eligible to apply. The committee also is accepting nominations for the office of NCBP Secretary, a position which succeeds to the position of NCBP President in 2023. Please encourage current and past bar leaders from your bar to nominate themselves for the NCBP Council – the deadline is June 10, 2020.
